Walk along the Sacred Way flanked by stone animals and figures, a guard of twelve sets of stone animals each one carved from a single block of stone. Every second one in a kneeling position, to allow for the changing of the guard, according to legend.
Beyond the animals are twelve stone human statues of Generals, ministers and officials. This is often a quiet and tranquil place, a place to wander in and out of the shade of the many willow trees that line the Way as you marvel at the magnificent statues.
